Sarg’Expo is the first international trade show on sargassum seaweed monitoring, collection and recycling. It will take place in Guadeloupe, October 24-26, 2019.
Sarg’Expo is a side event of the International Sargassum Conference that will take place in Guadeloupe at the same time and on the same premises.
Sarg’Expo will bring exceptional visibility to Caribbean and international exhibitors, and will bring them the opportunity to promote their products and services to Caribbean decision-makers and to the public.
The trade show aims at disseminating operational innovations and help Caribbean countries dealing with large sargassum influxes. Since 2011, coastal territories of the Caribbean sea and the Gulf of Mexico have been dealing with an unseen natural phenomenon: very large and recurrent groundings of sargassum seaweed. The impacts are significant and numerous. The degradation of sargassum produces massive amounts of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, inducing critical health, environmental and economic situations for affected communities.
